There has been much discussion over the "inconsistent extrusion" issue all over the play for the past couple months.
I was wondering if anyone has performed or come across a microscopic analysis of the cross-section of a 3D print, across the layer lines, looking at the interstitial voids that may or may not exist between the "good" areas and the "bad" areas. I ask as weak forces like capillary action and others come into play when laying down a +/- 0.2 mm ovals of hot plastic (non-Newtonian fluid) on top of the previous oval.
Anything goes! Cheap or expensive, FDM or SLA, DIY or Commercial.
