What is the cheapest PETG that you would consider buying / using?

As PartTimeRonin says, it does depend on where you live. Otherwise we have no idea which brands are even available for you ;)

In the UK, I've had very good results from Real Filament's "Real PETG". It's around £20 for 1kg on Amazon UK and the range of colours is quite wide (I have a roll of black and a roll of transparent orange and both look very nice; the black is opaque unless you print very thick layers, e.g. 0.6mm, at which point it does turn slightly transparent when held up to a light source, but apparently a major problem with PETG filaments is making opaque colours: making it opaque requires adding in so much dye that it affects the performance of the plastic).

Alternatively, rigid.ink's PETG is supposed to be very good, and I've seen some really nice-looking results from it, but I've never used it myself. It's also not particularly cheap, come to think of it. I'm also not the biggest fan of rigid.ink right now, because their PLA refuses to stick to anything but gluestick (other PLAs are fine with BuildTak or PEI, but theirs is not...) and it's stringy as hell in my experience - plus they've stopped replying to my messages, which is pretty poor for a premium brand.

I've heard this too, which explains why most of them seem to be transparent.

I've had some good results with 3D Prima black. It's completely opaque but it's very glossy.

They don't do a lot of colour options, and, as with all their filaments they are very expensive.

Das Filament looks impressive results. And seems like good value:-

Rigid.ink PETG is £39.95/Kg -> €44.43 / kg
Das Filament is €21.95 for 800g -> €27.43 / kg
