What nozzle to buy for the Ender 3??

Post by matt.mann » Sat Sep 29, 2018 8:05 pm

I've been trying to figure this out for an hour now and am still not sure. I ordered an Ender 3 here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GT ... UTF8&psc=1
I am trying to order an E3D hardened steel nozzle (Here --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B6 ... 8TEJ&psc=1

Is that the correct one for this printer? It says for V6 hotend but I cant seem to find the stock hotend specs anywhere on the web. And will I need to upgrade the hotend to use a hardened steel nozzle to print carbon fiber, wood, ABS, etc.?

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum. The tip should be fine for your application. Technically, you can use a regular brass tip, but it will wear out quickly.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I'll go ahead and order that then. That kit comes with some extra brass nozzles and I thought about trying them with abrasives just to see how quick it would hit the dirt, but I figured I might as well start with a sure thing as I'm planning on using the Ender 3 mainly for abrasive filaments since my other printer doesn't have a heated bed.
Thanks again!
