Stringing Support Bridging

Post by CarstenWartmann » Fri May 26, 2017 11:24 am

I always watched stringing with interest and wondered if one could enforce stringing to support bridges (and maybe also some kind of overhangs) with a "spidernet" of strings which are so easy to remove...

Sadly stringing is too weak, but maybe creating lines at 50% extrusion could create the desired effect, but the points where it touches the part would have terrible finish.
However, more printers on the market are supporting dual extrusion, leading to dissolveable support being more common...

I meant using the stringing to support the bridges as first counter meassurement against sagging.

But after rethinking the "strings" may just melt with the bridges... Well every idea is worth discussing. Maybe some genius gets a usable idea from it :-)
