Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

Got the beast up and running today, and after much tweaking and fiddling, managed to produce a pretty nice looking benchy!

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

Warren, what kind of wires do you use for the motors? When crimping regular Dupont wires (size of jumper wires) it usually fits perfectly. Of course the thermistor wires are tiny, but every other cable on the printer should be just the right size for a Dupont connector :-) The motors came with 1M l...

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

Stefan, thank you for the tip regarding doubling up the strands when crimping ends on fine gauge wires. Every crimped end I have put on since taking your advice has worked faultlessly the first try. It's so obvious a solution; I don't know why it didn't occur to me.

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

Heated bed now working. It was indeed a bad thermistor. I am disappointed in this because the thermistor is molded into the silicone mat and is not easily replaceable. Had I had the foresight to TEST the thermistor BEFORE I peeled off the adhesive and stuck the heater to the bottom of the build surf...

This is the 24V PSU I am using and its fan is PWM controlled. I don't think the product description says one way or the other.

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

Did you cut your frame with a jigsaw? Yes, frame was cut with a jigsaw, but I had a friend with a table saw help me square up the outside edges. I can't seem to cut s straight line with a jigsaw to save my life. I've been told that it may not be entirely my fault though - when you buy a cheap Black...

Check cnc kitchen's vibration test if the printer is stable enough :D https://github.com/CNCKitchen/3D-Printer-Vibration I don't know if I am really THAT interested, but it's an interesting idea! There's a great YT video that explains it all in excruciating detail as well... https://www.youtube.com...

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

It's ALIVE! No build plate and the extruder isn't wired up yet, but it ran an 1.5 hour piece of gcoode and it didn't fall apart...That's good, right?

Re: Rumba plus board hotbed not heating

I know this sounds basic, but have you checked fuse F1 (the 20A fuse directly behind the heatbed connector)

Re: My Prusa I3 MK2 Dolly clone - Build log / progress report

I got the PSU base and cap modeled and printed this week - Struggled a little with making the PLA stick in the corners of the 120mmx95mm base. The warping was driving me mad. https://i.imgur.com/p2Od2F4m.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qh3uRCom.jpg I went ahead and let the print finish despite the warping, ...
