I start to hate PLA! (PETG vs PLA)

I am starting to hate PLA. PETG was in the last month my material of choice, so far I can only see two minor drawbacks for me: You need to construct your parts thicker to achieve the same stiffness and cutted threads are quite weak (so using a integrated nut is mostly better for threads which need t...

Distinguish PLA from PETG filaments?

Hi,

I am a bit sloppy so in my filament box there are many filament samples without proper labels... So what is the best/easiest way to distinguish PLA from PETG?

Cheers and Prost,

Re: My Prusa i3 MK2 Rework

Interesting! Can you introduce us some of the changes (beside the color :-)? I see you reversed the Z carriage on the spindles. To gain more Z build height? And you redesigned the leveler for releasing the spring loaded extrusion hobbed bold, I would like to have that too, the original one leaves ma...

Re: wipebar for first extrusion

Yea, I longer wanted such a thing. My idea was wire brush just before the intro line starts. I think there are some other solutions out there and I think maybe some in commercial printers. But for me I never realized the project and still forget to clean my nozzle, especially PETG makes often a mess...

Re: Stringing Support Bridging

I meant using the stringing to support the bridges as first counter meassurement against sagging.

But after rethinking the "strings" may just melt with the bridges... Well every idea is worth discussing. Maybe some genius gets a usable idea from it :-)

Stay log in for Social Login?

I don't miss "Just another forum login" and use social login, but I miss the option to keep log in over sessions, usually you hve an option "remember me" or such and also the possibility to let you log in automatically by the browser. Is that possible with e.g. a login via google?

Cheers,
Carsten
