Re: Marlin installed on MKS Gen v1.4 with TMC2130, steppers won't move

Hi Andy, At least there is progress. I kept my mechanical stops; they were already there and didn't require any tuning. I've always had a handful of Pololu drivers sitting around just in case because they seem so fragile. Try using M502 to restore your firmware settings. That problem with not taking...

Re: Marlin installed on MKS Gen v1.4 with TMC2130, steppers won't move

Hi Andy, Loading defaults from the printer should clear up the 800mA vs 1000mA; it's a Marlin thing that I've seen, too. Could there be a mechanical cause for this? I'm not sure what would let the motors move down properly but whine while trying to moving upward. If there were a problem with softwar...

Re: Marlin installed on MKS Gen v1.4 with TMC2130, steppers won't move

Hi Andy, (Couldn't help with the MKS, but think I can answer your current question.) You've got two motors drawing from the same driver, so turn up the z-driver amp setting in configuration_adv.h. Keep in mind that this will create more heat, so be sure to have a plan for cooling. I wouldn't be surp...

Re: Firmware Question

Hi Issac,

Upload and Verify. Configuration.h is no different than any other file in the program, and the compilation process does not care what file you currently have open.

Re: Firmware Question

Hi Neuman, Welcome to the forum. Files such as Configuration.h are compiled into code that the Arduino can understand. The text form seen in the IDE cannot be used by the Arduino directly because that would require an interpreter (a program that reads high level code and converts it to low level cod...

Re: First print problems with my brand new dolly (i3 clone)

Definitely improving! I think you first layer is still too high; the extrusions should be more squashed together to create a solid layer. Maybe another 0.05mm. The other thing I think I see is your z-travel per line may be a little too much. Measure the distance from the bed to some point on the ext...

Re: First print problems with my brand new dolly (i3 clone)

I'd definitely bring the head down at least 0.1mm (and then possibly more). Also be sure that after you use G29 that you have M420 S1. It may be automatic in Marlin now, but previously the bed leveling info would not be used unless you activated bed leveling. And yes, G28 kills that G29. That first ...

Re: Need help setting up Ramps and mega conversion

Hi JL, Welcome back! If you are getting power to the bed and extruder and they are heating up any amount, that is a good sign. If your power supply is able to deliver 20W you should be fine. What I would suggest it that you tune your PID settings for both heater cartridges. PID's affect the feedback...

Re: Prusa i3 Clone Bed Leveling Issue

That would certainly explain why your first calibration point is so far from the left side! Just try sending the carriage to 100, 100 in x & y. If it isn't near the center you may be right.

Re: Prusa i3 Clone Bed Leveling Issue

I don't think the mesh leveling ever relies on the calibration points, just Prusa's leveling. Beds vary a bit in dimensions, roughly 200 to 230mm; setting the firmware for all configurations would be impossible. (Or they didn't bother to check?). It is adjustable, so dive into your firmware and look...
