Re: Please Help setting up Anet A8 Slicing

OK I finally got somewhere and this is good fix. I opened the gcode of the model that printed well from the provided sd card I decoded the settings pumped those settings into slic3r and printed a Benchy beautifully. I had to re level the bed but that was no big deal. I tried my first big print I am ...

Re: Please Help setting up Anet A8 Slicing

Thanks for that I will be trying those settings with a Benchy probably tonight. I was really hoping for answers from someone who had actually done this with an Anet A8 because at least I would know we are working from a common frame of reference. Although I have to say all the help is gratefully rec...

Please Help setting up Anet A8 Slicing

I bought myself an Anet A8 in a Black Friday flash sale and got a realy good deal under 100 GBP it took about 7 weeks to arrive but I did get a very good price. I decided not to remove the brown paper coating on the acrylic as removal is a pain, it has no impact on the build and I quite like the loo...

Re: Hardware Second Hand

Lack of cash plus a desire to up-cycle unused kit is my driving force here. As for acrylic being a bad option, I want to look at finding ways to make acrylic stronger by modification and to come at that from an existing out of the box acrylic frame. That is to say you can make an acrylic frame stron...

Hardware Second Hand

I am planning on getting myself an Anet A8 for Christmas and before someone kicks off suggesting other printers I should probably say I am looking forward to slowly improving this by printing modifications and extensions. Besides I just can't afford the original Prusa i3 I would like. Anyways It is ...

Recycling

I know there is a filament that does some recycling at the manufacturing stage ReForm's rTitanX (Maker noob did a You Tube) but wouldn't it be cool if there were some location/s probably a few where we could send our old unused filament/failed models. For this to be viable there would have to be at ...

Multi Material Multi nozzle Dolly

I have been thinking about multiple extruder to get multi material on custom build printers like Dolly. There’s been a lot of talk about losing build space because you have to allow for the overlap of the extruders on the X axis. Why not either make the frame wider or turn the extruders so they alig...

I was remembering how the late Prof Eric Laithwaite explained the concept behind the linear induction motor in that if you could take an ordinary induction motor split it along one side and then unrolled it then did the same with the rotor then the resultant flattened outer could be used to drive th...

Re: Lets talk Glue

This could be a bit late for your job but it is allways an option to redesign the part with some sort of mechanical interlock. Consider the dovetail joint that was used in furniture making if you look at the design of the Original Iron Bridge (the first in the world) you will see that it has cast do...
