Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

Your welcome ;) I doubt my issues are caused by the stepper controller. Keep in mind, my Z axis is not that bad. I recently successfully printed the top of a part in a layer height of 15um! The top of the part was like the top of a ball. Slightly curved. I didn't like the staircase look when...

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

Yes. Without any doubt! There is a lot of pressure on those bearings due to the belt tension. This creates a large amount of friction in those bearings leading to a lot of belt stretch when moving the XY axis. It is essential to replace these bearings with flanged ball bearings. You might have to re...

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

Here is a picture of a part of my XY system. You can clearly see the ball bearing. Do you still have the original plain bearings at this location?

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

The improvements I made to the X and Y axis: - Replaced the original belts with belts with steel cords. These are the stiffest belt types - Instead of ball bearing they used plain bearings. Replacing the plain bearings at those points for ball bearings is essential. - Changing some of the rods is al...

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

No, I haven't solved the issue. I blame the Z-axis screw. Why would the Z axis feed rate cause this kind of problem?

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

The support nozzle doesn't have a cooling system. That nozzle clogged rather fast. I didn't have any programming skills as well. Have a look at this youtube channel. This guy has some videos how to setup Marlin. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb8Rde3uRL1ohROUVg46h1A Hereby all the pin layout infor...

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

I am afraid I have to disappoint you. There is no firmware in world that makes this printer reliable. The printer is poorly designed in every single aspect. To give you an idea of the problems. Hereby a short list of the things I can recall from the top of my head. The electronics board is unable to...

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

The board should support auto bed leveling. Not all the X Y and Z positive and negative connectors are used so you have some left over pins there that you can use. There are also a large amount of pins that go to the screen that are unused. You have more than enough options with this board. Regardin...
