Re: OpenBuild vs linear bearings

Right on. Abstracting away everything else, that you're speaking specifically of shear thickening fluids answers the heart of my question. Re: Monoprice MP Select Mini restarts mid print

I had noticed similar behavior on my Di3 Plus, especially at the start of prints... It usually seemed to happen when starting a new print immediately after completing or aborting a previous print, especially with ABS. That led me to think it was a heat issue. I haven't noticed it doing that since my...

Change notification to opt-out?

I don't know about other people, but to me, a forum that doesn't notify you when someone's engaged you in conversation is counter productive to facilitating conversation.

I've been checking the box each time I comment or post (I think), but unless others do it to, the thread tends to die.

Re: dolly i3

I concur.

I get the feeling a lot of people are reproducing this build.

There is ideal material for kinetic energy absorption and it is any non Newtonian fluid...
Wouldn't that only work with fluids that gain in viscosity as shearing increases, as opposed to non-Newtonian fluids like coffee which tends to jump out of a mug at the slightest provocation?

Just curious.

Re: Part cooling fan only works momentarily on my Dolly.

Both when testing with M106 and when controlling via the LCD.

But to be clear: the fan was the only thing being controlled by the RAMPS. The rest of the printer is still running off of the Wanhao's Melzi.

Part cooling fan only works momentarily on my Dolly.

So, I've been slowly getting my bits from China to up-Dolly my semi-fried Wanhao I3 plus. Finally got enough pieces to handle something my Wanhao can't: part-cooling control. I have the 12V blower hooked up to D9 such that if I send M106 , the fan spools up to full speed. But for some reason, in the...

Re: Reprap Discount LCD 2004 only works with usb power

This same thing happened to me, and while this isn't likely to be there cause of every instance of this problem... It turned out that not all of the pins from the Ramps shield were properly inserted into the headers on the Arduino. Specifically, the pins went behind the header near the reset button....
