Re: Anyone tried this?

Dont know, as I never tried it, but if you are looking for cheap in the EU, check out Hobbyking. I have not yet tried their house brand, which is ridiculously cheap (12-13 euro per kg of PLA!), but I have used Esun a lot, and its perfectly good filament that they sell for €15.4 per Kg from their EU ...

Re: Need opinion

A anycubic i3 mega has 5cm less on the buildplate. Not 5cm less than an A8 he was considering. And a bowden setup. TPU should be challenging True. But if I'm honest, my direct drive MK2s cant really do TPU either. Anyway, there is no printer that will do everything for everyone and cost next to not...

Re: Need opinion

A friend bought the A8 this thing is crap. What a pity, just had a plan to buy it. My brother bought a anycubic i3 mega. Its slightly more expensive than the A8, but Ive had it for while for testing, and I was quite impressed by it. Print quality is 95% as good as my orginal MK2s at 1/3 the price a...

Re: thermistor position on the mk42 clone

Actually, on my original bed there was some rather thick and extremely sticky aluminium tape over it, and only then kapton. Im guessing for thermal insulation? When I replaced the bed, I recovered (some of) that tape.

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

This is something I don't believe. I can turn the stepper motor quite a bit without skipping steps when power is applied to the motor. I cannot believe that his is only half a microstep. Common sense tells me that the actual accuracy under load is somewhere between half a step and a full step. This...

Re: MK42 bed clones finally available?

My Orballo Mk42 finally arrived. Mounting will have to wait until the weekend, but it looks ok. I measure 1.1 Ohm. No led/resistor installed or supplied.

Re: 500mm x 500mm heated bed

You're exaggerating. 0.5-1W per cm² is overkill. It would mean 500W for my prusa MK2 bed. In reality, it doesnt even draw 1/3 of that and yet it still heats up to >100C in a few minutes. And Im guessing the OP doesnt plan on printing ABS with such a mega bed, 50-60C would be enough for him..

Re: MK2.5 upgrade Vs MK3 print quality

I dont expect any noticeable difference in print quality. The bondtech extruder; im not entirely sure what the point is. Maybe when printing very fast? Maybe for some slippery materials, like nylon? I have no complaints about my MK2S extruder at least for PLA/ABS/PETg. Pinda2 ought to solve the prob...
