Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

you want a reprapdiscount smart (not full ) controller: http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRapDiscount_Smart_Controller they can be found pretty much anywhere from ~$7 to ~$14, and they're all pretty much the same. Some cheaper variants come with the cable headers installed backwards. I've also bought one wh...

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

Hi there, I got a few questions about the FW. First off, I want to say that I'm new to 3d printing and have to experience what so ever in electronics. I'm here to learn and experiment. Just so you know, 2 months ago, I didn't even know what a Arduino was. So I start researching, learned the basic o...

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

Here's a first crack at porting the MK3 firmware to RAMPS. it's very likely that the tmc2130 code is non-functional.
i've lightly tested this on my own MK2 clone.

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

How are you all wiring the diag pins? Looks like stock Marlin uses diag1, and prusa's einsy board uses diag0 and diag1 soldered together. Has anyone looked into the init code from MK3 branch? I know the two diagonal pins share 80% functionality, but iirc diagonal 0 can trip on over temp prewarn and ...

Re: Cheap knock-off bondtech gears?

I bought a printrbot gear set. The idler has stubby m5 ends. It probably needs to be seated inside some shallow bearings inside the idler. It was $30 with shipping, so not much savings over buying the bondtech.

Re: Lines in print. Stepper resolution problem?

Try a different stepper driver. I had this problem using A4988s, changing to a TMC2208 totally changed the sides of my prints, even with the same gcode. the TMC2208s use a UART to configure the driver for spreadcycle mode, which you'll definitely want on the extruder. They can also have their intern...
