Re: I think i broke it (RAMPS 1.5 board with Arduino Mega)

No poly fuses, so i assume surface mounted.

I tried the same set up, just swapped out for a MKS Gen L, and this all worked (to a point).

I'm not a huge fan of the RAMPS anyway, so i might just take this as an excuse to get an all in one board.

I think i broke it (RAMPS 1.5 board with Arduino Mega)

Hi all, Having an issue that google isnt really helping me with (more accurately i'm probably not searching for the correct terms...) so im looking for some advice. Literally the power cycle after getting my tmc2130s to work (finally!) i turn on my printer to begin calibrating etc and, nothing. It's...

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

It is a bit odd as it also seemed to invent an error for the y as when I disabled the monitor line the y axis wouldn't move and just made noise. It might have been a power thing I guess? If they are relatively hungry it would make sense that all I did was reduce the load and it worked. While it migh...

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

Update! I decided to take out the 2130 on the Z. as I figured this was another problem I couldn't be bothered with just yet. In doing this, the error with the Y has stopped, and both A and Y Axis work. i am happy enough with this. Thanks for your help! Now I just need to work out why my PSU has deci...

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

I have confirmed that SD support is disabled my firmware. As i use octoprint i don't feel the need for a screen or SD card at the moment. My printer has an auto bed levelling sensor, according to Chris' basement vid, i shouldn't need to hook up the diag pin to the signal on the endstop. Should this ...

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

lots of viewing, but i have watched those videos. Not sure if i was missing the point, but i didn't get much that i didn't already know from the first 3 videos. I haven't even got the steppers working well enough yet to see if they are whining. If i have missed a clear bit of help here, please feel ...

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

It is 12v. Not saying I disagree as I will admit I don't know enough about them but I have seen a lot of people using them on 12v systems.

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

I am using marlin 1.1.8

Would it be better to go back to 1.1.6 as in Tom's video?

I will lower to the 600 mark and see if this does help, it may be thermal shut down.

Re: Yet another TMC2130 problem

in true organised fashion, i cant for the life of me find my old drivers. I doubt i'd have been stupid enough to throw them out, knowing i have had trouble with the 2130s int he past. but regardless, i can't find them yet. I will take a look again and see what I find. What i tried however, was to di...
