Re: Printable Parts for the MK3 are released

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2717991 still have to test them tho. That's pretty cool! That said, I was hoping for a version of the Mk3 fan nozzle that fits onto an unmodified Mk2 extruder cover, because I've already had to modify my extruder cover, both for the Dolly tweaks (which I think you ...

High-quality belts?

I'm planning to rebuild my Dolly printer soon, as I've reprinted all of the printed parts with much more quality than the crappy parts I got via 3DHubs. Most of my printer uses high-quality components (genuine E3D v6, Mk42 bed, motors and extruder gear from E3D as well, genuine BL Touch, etc.) and I...

Re: Printable Parts for the MK3 are released

Awesome, now if only someone would backport the part-cooling fan nozzle to the Mk2, as I've yet to see a convincing equivalent nozzle on Thingiverse (i.e. a nozzle that cools from the sides as well as the front). I'd be all over that ;) Backporting the 40mm noctua hotend heatsink fan support would b...

Re: TMC2100 highpitch noise

This thread has some suggestions.

If you can, try running just your motor drivers from a 24V supply (use a boost converter from 12V rather than installing a completely separate power supply) - the "Vm" (motor voltage) pin. That apparently helps, and is what I'll be doing when I get that far.

Re: TOM's i3 Dolly Prusa MK2 scad

Thanks for the BLTouch notes, will come in handy if I decide to give it a go. Are you using Smoothieware on a ReARM or Smoothieboard? I have a ReARM sitting on the shelf I keep meaning to try, just to learn about another firmware. I've come across a Thing on Thingiverse that already combines the 1m...

Re: TOM's i3 Dolly Prusa MK2 scad

Ah, oops, how did I miss that? :) I never tried using threaded rods for the Z axis, so I've no idea how leadscrews compare - I just preferred the idea of using leadscrews from the outset. I may or may not switch to integrated leadscrews at some point; I'm not sure there'd be a lot of benefit in doin...

Re: TOM's i3 Dolly Prusa MK2 scad

Ah, cool :) I noticed when building my printer that the brass leadscrew nuts didn't match up with the holes in the printed parts at all so I ended up bodging it with zip ties, more drilled holes, and glue... Fixing the holes that align with the leadscrew nuts was something I needed to do before I co...

Re: TOM's i3 Dolly Prusa MK2 scad

Great to hear it worked for someone else since I had all of one test point before :-) I used your extruder model for my printer and that worked great :) I'm in the process of re-printing everything now, and ideally I need a mount for my BLTouch clone instead of the inductive probe, so that the BLTo...

Re: Getting rid of endstops

The Prusa i3 Mk3 does this by proper use of Trinamic TMC2xxx (TMC2160, is it?) stepper motor drivers, which are able to report back to the host controller the amount of current going through each motor. When a motor is unable to move (such as when the axis is at the end of its travel), the current t...

Re: MK42 bed clones finally available?

Yes. From memory, that’s all the jumper was on my PSU board. Awesome, thanks :) I'll give that a go when the parts arrive and I'll report back! Arriving today from Amazon I have: A 40x10mm Noctua 12V fan for my hotend once I print an adapter A 60x25mm Noctua 12V fan for this 24V PSU (I'll grab a bu...
