Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

@slippyr4 Just received the Multi Material upgrade, and installed it on my clone. The extruder multiplexer uses 2 I/O lines to switch extruders. I first tried to use the AUX3 connector on the RAMPS/Makeboard pro board i use, but could not get it to work, probably because these are initialized as an...

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

Nice, does it work properly? Yes everything seems to work. I only had to fit a different connector to the extruder stepper so that it would fit my board. But i had a lot of problems getting it to print in 4 colors reliably, as i attempted a few prints, and eventually the filament got stuck somewher...

I'd never thought to look into that, and not noticed it myself. Thanks for the tip! i've implemented your fix in the MK2 branch and also the MK2.
Excellent! Thanks for updating your MK2 branch.

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

@slippyr4 If you enable Z_DUAL_STEPPER_DRIVERS, the current to the motors will cut out after a certain time of not using the printer. The official firmware has the Z motors always enabled, to prevent them from becoming misaligned. This is not the case if you enable dual stepper drivers for the Z axi...

Re: MK42 bed clones finally available?

The tracks on the bottom side are not connected to anything, but i think they are there to prevent warping of the board. I experimented with making a MK42 board myself, and first tried a copper plane at the bottom, traces on the top, but that board was not perfectly flat. And heating it up made thin...
