Re: Prusa i3 Clone Bed Leveling Issue

Hi SMatthews95, Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Dolly! If I had to guess, I would say that the difference in the Prusa bed leveling and the mesh leveling is the culprit. The Prusa system depends on the special calibration points, exclusively, so the print head comes down only when the prob...

Re: DOLLY unsolvable X layer shift (I am desperate)

Additional question: Does the layer shift only happen one time, or do you get successive shifts during the print?

Re: RAMPS 1.4 and Mega2650 upgrade problems

Hi JL, (Look up how to post code snippets in their own block form so it is easier to scroll past it - probably not a big deal here, but some forums would troll you pretty badly). Ok, glad to hear you are making progress! Send a command like "G0 X100 Y100" after homing to get the extruder centered on...

Re: RAMPS 1.4 and Mega2650 upgrade problems

Hi JL, Post your configuration.h and we'll go through it. If your bed won't home, I suspect there are several parameters we will need to check. We can also slow your extruder fan down, but it should always be on (partly as a safety measure). Maybe adjusting your PIDs will be a better solution. -Stefan

Re: Need desperate help with tmc2130 :(

Glad to hear it is running, Anthony. Breaking PLA usually means age/exposure. You are already doing the best test by replacing it, so you will know soon.

Re: Need desperate help with tmc2130 :(

Hi Anthony, Those jumpers should be removed for the TMCs, though I think they do nothing when a TMC is connected (they alter the microstepping in conventional drivers). The ONE reason I prefer the RAMPS/Arduino combination over a MKS board is that each of those two pieces can be replaced individuall...

Re: RAMPS 1.4 and Mega2650 upgrade problems

Unfortunately, I believe the short would be in the Arduino. Maybe someone else could confirm.

Re: Need desperate help with tmc2130 :(

Hi Anthony, Still makes me think its a short of some sort. Be sure you don't have flux or solder bridging pins. Another possibility is to try a different pin configuration (there are different combinations that work with AUX-1, so do a search for one.) Here is a video that does a great step-by-step ...

Re: RAMPS 1.4 and Mega2650 upgrade problems

Hi JL, The endstops could have shorted part of the board. The fact that you get the LCD to light when plugged into a computer suggests that the computer is your only source of 5V. The parts cooling fan does need to be configured (see my previous post, above), and will not turn on automatically (requ...

Re: RAMPS 1.4 and Mega2650 upgrade problems

Hi Anthony, You can connect the tmc's and lcd as usual, they will both work. JL You will need to change the value for steps per mm for your z-axis. You'll find it in configuration.h of Marlin. Double check your wiring for your end stops, plugging them in wrong can short the board. Your extruder fan ...
