Re: Best way to dissolve support materials?

I own a Ultrasonic bath, but as a newbie no desolvable material so far (no need as no dual extruder so far) . Will look around if I can get a hand on a test piece of PVA filament. What would be a usefull amount to disolve in order to get you an idea if and how ultrasonic works compared to oth...

Re: Cura Stringing/Retraction issues

As I'm a complete noob with just 4 weeks of practical experience to 3d printing I might explain my understanding of how retraction works and how I think it is affected by a Bowden setup. And maybe someone experienced can proof or disapprove my thinking While extruding pressure is put on the filament...

Re: A8 new build with 2 issues

He hex screw that holds the extruder in place on a stock Anet A8 is a M4x6 mm. Hex I think only because you could more easily access than a Phillips screw.
For your second question I'm not sure if I understand it, where did your cable come off. Maybe you could post or link a picture

Re: Favourite filament?

As I'm quite new I don't have much experience but before I ordered my first spools I went through Thomas Filaween Series. In the last 3 weeks I have already used PLA and PETG from http://dasfilament.de and both were very easy to use. Because PETG is not that brittle as PLA and I'm printing parts tha...

Re: Cura Stringing/Retraction issues

I'll hook in here as I'm facing a similar issue and still trying to learn about retraction. I have a Anet A8 and have been printing with the stock direct drive for 3 weeks now. I didn't touch the retraction settings in Cura 2.5 So 6,5mm retraction and 20mm/s speed. All my prints in PLA and PETG came...
