Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

For some first tests you could always use the Arduino sketches from the TMC2130Stepper library used by Marlin and flash one of those first to get a bit of a feeling what and how is possible with those divers.

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

That's not an issue, at least on RAMPS - Vcc comes from a 5V regulator when the PSU is connected (there's a depletion mosfet which disconnected VCCUSB in that instance too). I'm with you on it being a theoretical risk though. I'm with except of any modified Ramps either for 24V or with cut D1 Diode...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

Or the other way round, power board on without usb plugged in results in the same. But to be honest if so I know about the recommendation. I'm dealing with TMC drivers over the past 6 month and sepaiaclly with the 2130 and 2208 did intensive test not always taking care of the power cycle, haven't ma...

Re: TMC2208 - MKS 1.4 - Anet A8 ?

As the MKS is ramps based yes I did it but on a RAMPS 1.4 and Ramps 1.5 and have them setup and running with the Marlin TMC2208Stepper library setup in UART/PDN TX/RX mode
The upper left driver (EO) is a TMC2208 in UART mode wired

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

So the 3 pins marked in red are SCK,MOSI,MISO which are shared and used by every driver. All pins marked in blue can be used as CS pins you just have to take care to set the right pin number in Marlin configuration for the CS pin. And have a look on the LCD EXP1 EXP2 numbering as far as I have in mi...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

Ok I see you have a MKS Gen. I always have a bit of an issue with those MKS parts as they don't provide proper documentation. With a pin layout schematic for the board I would be no problem to explain or draw a plan how to wire it up best for a LCD/TMC2130 SPI setup

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

Yes i have a RAMPS and I use the LCD ribbon cable just don't plug it on to the the board. At the moment still connected with the jumper wires as in my image. Diong some reassingment in the Marlin boards pin_XXXX.h is not that big deal best is to have a schematics with the pin layout and numbering on...

Re: TMC2100 highpitch noise

I got rid of thge whinning noise in 2 ways. I had Anet 0,9A with high impendance where th whinning was really horrible. 1st depending on the used stepper. I replaced one stepper first with a 2.0A low impendance stepper there the whinning in spreadcycle was already nearly non audible in 12V 2nd Power...

BE AWARE with Chinese Fysetc TMC2130

In the past weeks I had quite a lot of ongoing discussion with people having trouble setting up TMC2130 drivers they ordered from China. As I own the watterott ones for quite a time now I inspected the Chinese ones to find a few issues to get them to work proberly. A) watterott TMC2130 come with the...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

@mesnik
That's my wiring. Just when I started. Only using 2 X 2130 as I'm currently testing them in a mixed setup with TMC2208. So Green=MOSI,Red=SCK,white=MISO and yellow CS for every driver
