Re: Wiring the MK2a to direct 12V PowerSupply ??
I have a 12v30A PSU and it only reaches 120degC. Is this a heatbed problem or do I have get an even higher Ampere PSU? The current rating of a power supply is just a maximum. The actual current (and hence power) is down to the load (resistance) applied. A higher current rating will make no differen...

Re: 12V 30A PSU?
I'm wondering if you've got an intermittent or poor connection to the heater cartridge. Perhaps some broken wires? it looks a bit frayed and untidy in the photos but it's hard to be sure. From what you say, the problem seems to happen when the extruder is moving - which could be making and breaking ...

Re: 12V 30A PSU?
I don’t disagree with you. I’m sure thus isn’t helping though.
Are you able to reproduce the problem without actually doing a print? For example if you use pronterface to set a hot end temperature and then turn on the part cooling fan, will that trigger the problem? Or is it only when printing?

Re: 12V 30A PSU?
You’ve assembled the extruder incorrectly. The hot end is supposed to be 90 degrees away from how you have it; the wires should exit on the side and then be gently bent towards the rear. See the assembly guide from prusa but it’s clear in this photo: https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/igi/prusa3d...

Re: 12V 30A PSU?
This is pretty obviously not the PSU but what (I think it was chumm) said above with the part cooling fan blowing on the hot end and cooling it too much. You can prove that- unmount your fan and point it in a different direction, set your hot end temp and run the fan. I bet you don’t get a thermal r...

It won’t work; the calibration is dependent on the 9 calibration points on the MK42 bed.

Re: Update Marlin Firmware
Git is kind of the leading SCM tool for any project size, distributed or not.
But the point here, is that marlin is hosted on github so using a git tool allows merged updates.

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds
1. Does this firmware works with the Multimaterial upgrade provided by prusa? It would with a bit of work to remap some pins. I've not got, nor attempted to clone, the MMU, so it's not done. But it should not be hard. 2. Does it work with the MK 2.5 upgrade? Because of the other Bed leveling proced...
