Re: Quesion: MKS GEN 1.4 Wiring

However I just bought a new Rumba board, and it advises that dual Z steppers are wired in parallel (not serial). Possibly for several reasons:- If they put two Z connectors in series on the board, You'd HAVE to use two motors or neither would work. Putting two parallel connectors means you can use ...

Re: Prusa firmware for RAMPS Prusa i3 clones with MK42 beds

Usually if only one mosfet you'd use it for part fan, and just connect the extrduer fan to the pwer supply so its on all the time.

If you fork my repository on github, make your changes for anet, then send me a pull request I will review & integrate it into this firmware.

Re: Marlin with: MKS GEN 1.4 + TMC2130

Could it be that your driver is overheating? After all, that’s what the error message says!!

Re: TMC2130 and Limit Switches

Depends whether you want them!

You can wire DIAG1 to the end stop pin and use that (subject to set up in marlin), or use your existing endstops.

Re: Update Marlin Firmware

Really you need to learn how to use git: either from the command line or use a client like sourcetree.

In that way, you can just do a pull and it will merge new code with your local changes.

Re: BE AWARE with Chinese Fysetc TMC2130

My FYSETC had a 0 ohm resistor in the spi bridge. I’ve removed it and used a blob of solder to bridge CFG4 and it works as it should. However, the other thing that I think will be a problem is that there is silkscreen over the top of the thermal vias under where the heat sink should go. This will si...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

Or the other way round, power board on without usb plugged in results in the same. But to be honest if so I know about the recommendation. I'm dealing with TMC drivers over the past 6 month and sepaiaclly with the 2130 and 2208 did intensive test not always taking care of the power cycle, haven't m...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

One thing to note, for all those doing this, is that apparently the TMC2130 on silentstepstick can be damaged if they are powered without VM being present. Which practically means that powering the board from USB without the serparate power supply turned on, is a risk. On MKS gen you can disconnect ...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

Ok I see you have a MKS Gen. I always have a bit of an issue with those MKS parts as they don't provide proper documentation. With a pin layout schematic for the board I would be no problem to explain or draw a plan how to wire it up best for a LCD/TMC2130 SPI setup I do get your point, they aren't...

Re: RAMPS, TMC2130s, and LCD

oakdesign has it right. Here's a photo of mine (only one driver connected at the moment, this is my test board for prusa fw) Thing to remember is that each driver shares the MOSI/MISO/SCK pins but has it's own CS pin. that can be any spare pin with very few exceptions, but you need to specify the pi...
