Re: How to print a 3D printer parts

do yourself a favour and use ASA or HIPS instead of ABS. They have very similar mechanical and thermal caracteristics but dont warp nearly as much (thus are easier to print on open frame printers like a prusa) And for printing, the presets in slic3r for the MK2 are good enough that you can just hit ...

Re: DRV8825 vs TMC2100 vs TMC2130 vs TMC2208

I'd argue that the tmc2130s are a better fit than the 2660s for a printer, as they lack stealthchop, which makes them louder than needed.
Also the tmc2100s seem to have a tendency to whine when ruining in spreadcycle mode @12v

Re: Thoughts about the MK3

Well, take a look into the 2.0 branch. It's reorganized and cleaned up so bringing up their changes to that base should definitely be doable for prusa

Re: MK2.5 upgrade Vs MK3 print quality

The TMCs should have little to none effect on the print quality in the used implementation ( taken from ultimachines git repo). It's still an 8 bit avr ( thus the interpolation feature is used, which is not as good as native 256 Microstepping and the 2130 has no integrated step generation like the 5...

Re: Thoughts about the MK3

I suspect that the decision to stick with RAMBo (albeit a new version) is because of the investment they have in their marlin fork. To change architecture would mean starting again with a new firmware base and that might lose some of their competitive advantage. Well, take a look into the 2.0 branc...

Thoughts about the MK3

IMO it looks p dope. And if definitly going to upgrade most of my MK2S clone to the parts of the MK3 I have one issue with it tho: its still an ATMEGA, which basically wastes the TMC2130s, as you cant run them on native 256 microstepping ( interpolation enabled usually creates a high pitched sound o...
