Re: Tool for cutting spring steel sheet?

Ronin do you have that PEI in your hands? Isn't it too brittle? I'm asking because I would also like to do the same thing, or better to be able to buy spring steel PEI coated plate cut to my measurements or cut by water jest according to my design. Do you live somewhere in EU? Maybe we would be abl...

Re: 500mm x 500mm heated bed

Thanks! I had assumed 120/220 based on the size. I am guessing cast to reduce warping when heated? 110V or 220V depend on what country you are in. If you don't know about electric much I suggest find someone who know before go with main power heater(main voltage can kill you if not done properly) O...

Re: 500mm x 500mm heated bed

Get some aluminium plate(preferably cast plate but it can be expensive), machine it flat and stick silicone heater under it.
For that size 110/220VAC heater with SSR is better choice but you need to make sure to wire it properly and use protective earth.

Re: Tool for cutting spring steel sheet?

If you can find some facility with WaterJet that would be my weapon of choice, and one it shouldn't cost much. I'm planing to do the same for my machine (spring steel + PEI). Just wondering how thick sping steel sheet and how thick/thin PEI sheet should I buy for 400x400mm print area. Any suggestio...

Where can we get a spool holder with a bearing like you showed in the video? I need one with minimal resistance, just like this one.

Thanks in advance!
That came from Atom 2.5EX I think. Or maybe old Atom 2.0 part.

Tool for cutting spring steel sheet?

After seeing Printrbot Simple Metal heated bed kit I quite like the spring steel+PEI surface so I decided to make my own. (yes, yes I know Prusa just launch MK3 with MK52 heated bed but this is for my own printer) So the question is what tool that can cut spring steel sheet to the size that I want w...
