Parts fitting

Post by MichelMichel » Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:58 am

Hi Tom, I don't know if this ever has been requested and I've looked through your videos on your YT channel and I haven't found anything like that: What I am really struggling with is parts fitting. I'm trying to play with several parameters and I cannot get it right, if I try to fit a ball bearing into my prints, it never fits. Same with other metal parts or plastic parts. I'm over and over trying to execute the parts fitting tutorials on Thingiverse, but I keep failing. Would you mind making a video or a live session on that topic? That would be hell awesome! Sure, part fitting is a result of an accomplishment: If you did everything right, then it should fit, but I think the settings jungle is just dense and big and beginners like me are desperately trying to find their way through. I have the feeling that for parts fitting, it is just a hand full of parameters, but .... (singing "it's a long way to the top...)

What kind of printer do you use?
Maybe the machanical part isn't tight enough(belt, pulley, bearing etc)
Also extruder step per mm should be calibrate too.
