Terrible Z wobbling on Tevo Tarantula

Post by MattFeros » Tue Mar 20, 2018 10:28 am

Every part that comes off of my Tarantula has severe Z wobbling. I noticed that the wobbling lines up with the Z lead screw. What could be a possible fix for this?

Get rid of the 'spring' coupler OR lock it with a clip if you still have the z motor on top.
The coupler is acting like a spring.

You can flip this over and put the zmotor at the bottom, this is said to improve things.
This is my next step to fix mine.

Check your vertical carriages, esp the nylon wheels mine got nicked during assembly and the little flat spots will drive you nuts.

See also Thingiverse, and the 20-30 videos on youtube.

good luck.

Thanks for the reply,

The holes for the eccentric nuts in my acrylic hot end carriage were out of whack, and no matter where I turned them the plate would wobble! I have an aluminium one on the way and once that arrives I'll print the reserves z motor mount.

If I use a reversed mount, could butting the lead screw up against the motor shaft in the coupler fix the issue?
