Anet A8 Ramps 1.4 TMC2130

Post by Corde » Mon Jan 22, 2018 4:31 pm

Hello guys,

I did Tom's guide about the TMC2130 stepper driver with the Ramps 1.4 board.
But when i start my printer i got this error message:
READ: 00:00: X driver overtemperature warning! (600mA)
READ:
READ: Y driver error detected:
READ: overtemperature
READ: short to ground (coil A)
READ: short to ground (coil B)

This overtemperature and short to ground error comes up on every axis where is my TMC2130. (X,Y,Z)
Any ide what can be the problem?

Here is my M122 log.

Can you post Pictures of your wiring setup the short to GND errors are in most cases due to the wiring. Next question are you using genuine Watterott or Chinese TMC

Okey.

I have TMC drivers from Fysetc.com
And when i just connect the stepepr driver and and wiring like this i also get the error message.
No stepepr motor no end stops connected, just the stepper drivers.

Have you done the needed soldeting job on the Fysetc. Opening the SPI Bridge and closing the CFG4 Bridge?

I just soldered the 4 pins and the one pins for the endstop.

Than that's the issue the Fysetc do not come setup for SPI. Look at my picture above

1. You have to open the SPI solder bridge or remove the 0 Ohm on that varies between Fysetc batches.
2. In order to have dcStep work properly the CFG4 has to be closed to GND.

Picture shows the little CFG4 and CFG5 bridges on a Watterott 2130 on the Fysetc they are open and the driver won't work properly

I have already explained the whole issue with the Fysetc in Detail here in the Forum just a few threads below
